Refurbishment is a practical solution for companies looking to reduce fleet maintenance costs, minimize waste, and maintain warehouse operational continuity.
The cost of refurbishment is 1/3 the cost of purchasing a new container. For a fleet of 100 containers, this means savings of up to 10,000 euros.
Receive fully functional containers within 2 weeks.
After refurbishment, the container is stable, maintains its geometry for stacking, and poses no risk to employees.
Stabilize carrier availability and standardize the fleet. Fewer downtimes and internal complaints.
Extend the lifecycle of carriers and reduce metal waste. Support for sustainable development.
Avoid the cost of purchasing new containers or postpone it by as much as 10-15 years.

We will conduct a free preliminary assessment and provide a precise cost calculation for refurbishment.
The cost depends on the scope of refurbishment agreed upon with the Client. It amounts to a maximum of 1/3 of the container’s value. In practice, a maximum of up to 40 EURO / piece. Refurbishment is most cost-effective when it allows for reducing the unit cost without losing performance parameters.

The refurbishment process is carried out in stages to thoroughly assess the condition of the containers, determine the scope of work, restore performance parameters and anti-corrosion protection, and conclude the service with quality control and documentation.
Preliminary assessment and qualification.
Based on information (carrier type, quantity, nature of damage, photographic documentation), we initially determine the direction: refurbishment, refurbishment with component replacement, or another solution.
Technical assessment at the plant.
Upon receipt of containers, a detailed assessment is performed. If necessary, the carrier is disassembled to check structural components and identify defects not visible 'at first glance'.
Repair qualification.
Register of defects qualified for repair.
Determining the scope of refurbishment.
After assessment and repair qualification, the exact scope of work is determined.
Refurbishment execution.
Commencement of the refurbishment process based on agreed conditions. The choice of solution depends on the terms of cooperation and client requirements.
Quality control and documentation.
After assembly, the carrier is checked for functionality and operational safety. As standard, documentation of the completed work (post-refurbishment protocol) is provided. Warranty according to cooperation terms.
The refurbishment of wire mesh and metal containers is a process that requires not only knowledge but, above all, strict adherence to safety standards. At Elkom Trade, we make no compromises. We hold all required licenses and certificates, which guarantee that the carriers repaired by us regain their full functionality and safety.

Answers to questions about container refurbishment
Various logistic carriers can be refurbished, including gitterboxes, roll containers, metal pallets, pallet collars, and other structures used in intralogistics – provided their technical condition allows for the restoration of performance parameters.
Not only. We also refurbish carriers not manufactured by us. The possibility of refurbishment depends on the type of carrier and its technical condition. In practice, the qualification and profitability of refurbishment are assessed, regardless of the carrier’s origin.
Yes. It is standard practice to provide documentation confirming the scope of refurbishment performed (post-refurbishment protocol).
The lead time depends on the volume and scope of work (e.g., scale of repairs, extent of replacements, required surface protection). The deadline is set at the order acceptance stage. However, it can be assumed that the maximum time is 2 weeks from the moment they are delivered to Elkom Trade’s headquarters in Ostrówiec Świętokrzyski.
In such a situation, a recommendation is presented: refurbishment of selected units, refurbishment with replacement of larger modules, or another cost- and operationally optimal solution. A similar approach can be applied to the refurbishment of warehouse racks, if their technical condition allows.
